You want to perform the Windows KB update through the Windows Update Standalone Installer but below error message coming out,
Installer encountered an error: 0x80070422
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
Solution
Open the Windows Update from the Control Panel. You will notice the Check for updates for your PC is in “red status”.
Click on Change Settings, select any of the options except Never check for updates (not recommended) (example, you can choose Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them). Click OK.
You can now re-execute the Windows KB update again.
