You are getting below error message while performing the upgrade or update activity using the SUM (Software Update Manager) tool.

From the log messages, below error message found in the SCAN_INBOX.

Software component SAP NETWEAVER 7.5 :
Adobe Document Services - 17 (02/2020) found in
stack definition file G:\MEDIA\DEV_STACK.xml is applicable
for system SID: DEV and HOST: itsiti, but the
current system is SID: DEV and HOST: daera.
This software component will be skipped.

Solution

Scenario 1

Re-check the stack XML file and most probably is your stack XML contains the wrong host name or SID. You can refer to this article, Maintenance Planner – Copy a stack XML for an identical system to generate the stack XML file.

Alternatively, you can try to manually edit the stack XML file using the notepad with the replace function. Please be informed that this workaround is not supported by SAP.

Scenario 2

This could be caused by a missing SAPSYSTEMNAME parameter. If this is the case, then check the DEFAULT.PFL and make sure that SAPSYSTEMNAME parameter is properly maintained. A restart of the SAP application server is required to activate the changes.
