This installation was done on Windows Server 2008 R2 environment.
Before get started, you must download the diagnostic installation file from the http://service.sap.com/swdc. In this tutorial, we are using DIAGAGT73SP01_0-20006981.SAR installer. You can locate the installer by navigating to below directories,
Support Packages and Patches > A – Z Index > S > SAP SOLUTION MANAGER
> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1 > Entry by Component > Agents for managed systems
> DIAGNOSTICS AGENT 7.3
Installation
Extract the downloaded file and you will get 2 folders of SMD730_IM_WINDOWS_X86 (Installation Master) and SMD730_K_UI_WINDOWS_X86_64 (Installation files – Diagnostics & Host Agents).
Go to SMD730_IM_WINDOWS_X86 and double click on sapinst to launch the installer. On the initial screen, navigate as following – Then, click Next.
Solution Manager Diagnostics Agent > SAP Systems > Standalone Engines
> Diagnostics agent in SAP Solution Manager > Diagnostics Agent
Enter the Hostname of Diagnostics Agent. Click Next.
Specify the Diagnostics Agent SID. Click Next.
Choose the Windows Domain. Click Next.
Enter the operating user password. Click Next.
Click Yes.
The Diagnostics Agent user hostname\SAPServiceDAA needs to be added to the trusted users list that is described in the Host Agent profile (host_profile). Do you want to proceed with the installation? In case you choose No, you have to proceed as follows:
Edit the profile (C:/Program Files/SAP/hostctrl/exe/host_profile) of the Host Agent as specified below and restart it.
If the parameter service/admin_users does not exist in the profile you need to include: service/admin_users=hostname\SAPServiceDAA
If it exists you need to add hostname\SAPServiceDAA to its value
CAUTION: the values are separated by a blank character.
Enter the instance number of Diagnostics Agent. Click Next.
Choose Register in existing central SLD. Click Next.
Enter the SLD parameters of the connection to the central SLD. Click Next.
Choose Configure standard connection. Click Next.
Choose P4 connection via SCS message server. Click Next.
Enter the configuration to connect the diagnostics agent to diagnostics in SAP Solution Manager.
Click Next.
Check and revise the entered parameters. Once confirmed, click Next to start the installation.
The installation running.
The installation of Diagnostics Agent complete!
Execution of Solution Manager Diagnostics Agent > SAP Systems
> Standalone Engines> Diagnostics agent in SAP Solution Manager > Diagnostics Agent
has completed.
