ADS Configuration in Solution Manager

1. Open the browser (Mozilla, Internet Explorer) and navigate to the following URL.

http://HOSTNAME:5xx00/nwa

2. Click on Deploy and Change.

3. Select All Configuration Tasks.

4. Select NW: ADS = AS ABAP (Generic Adobe ABAP Print Forms): Maintain and click on Start.

5. The Configuration Wizard will be running.

5.1 Enter the information required for Functional Unit Destinations – click on Next once done,

5.2 Enter the information for Technical User UI, once done – Click Next.

6. The ADS configuration is now complete!

7. So now, to verify the ADS configuration, execute transaction code SE38 and run the report FP_TEST_00. Accept the default value (ADS Connection = ADS)  and press F8.

8. Define the Output Device as LP01. If your SAP system do not have LP01 installed, you can create an Output Device with the Device Type PDF1. Click on Print Preview.

9. If you are getting below result, it means that your ADS configuration is working fine! Voila!!

Note

The configuration above is for SAP Solution Manager 7.1 with dual stack (ABAP and JAVA). If you want to configure for other ABAP stack system. Example, for an ERP 6.0 system.

You can rerun the above steps again and when reached to step 5.1, you have to maintain the hostname and DDIC (or any authorized user) of the ERP 6.0 system.  The next steps will be the same.
